Once upon a time in Saint Michel, France lived a master pastry chef named Joseph Grellier. He had a secret recipe for a round, meltingly soft and golden biscuit called "La Galette St Michel. One day, in July 5th, 1905 his wife came with the idea to sell the "Galettes" to the elegant Parisian ladies who came to bathe in the sea and enjoy the seaside. Joseph Grellier chose the hen as his brand logo, synonymous of top quality ingredients, the countryside and France" But St. Michel is not only about biscuits. It is also exceedingly proud of the Commerce Madeleine. The story of this madeleine cake began at the time of Stanislaus 1st King of Poland and Duke of Lorraine. He no longer had a pastry chef to make dessert, and so he asked a servant girl for a pastry. The king enjoyed the little cake so much that he named it after the servant: Madeleine. The Commerce Madeleine was born". ## Features - Made in France - Made without coloring, palm oil or hydrogenated fat - A 3" Crispy Cookie with big flavor - The Perfect treat - Made with Fresh Ingredients ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00GK7KUA2 | | ASIN | B00GK7KUA2 | | Age Range Description | 12+ | | Best Sellers Rank | #42,668 in Grocery ( See Top 100 in Grocery ) #39 in Butter Cookies #2,907 in Snack Foods | | Brand Name | St Michel | | Color | Multicoloured | | Container Type | Single | | Cookie Type | Butter Cookie | | Country as Labeled | France | | Country of Origin | China | | Country of origin | China | | Cuisine | French | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars (455) | | Customer reviews | 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars (455) | | Department | Cookies | | Flavor | Butter | | Global Trade Identification Number | 03178530402278 | | Is Discontinued By Manufacturer | No | | Item Dimensions | 40 x 238 x 98 millimeters | | Item Firmness Description | Cookies | | Item Form | Bar | | Item Package Weight | 0.18 Kilograms | | Item Weight | 6.2 Ounces | | Item model number | 3178530402278 | | Manufacturer | St Michel | | Manufacturer | St Michel | | Model Number | 3178530402278 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Occasion | Wedding | | Packaging Feature | Liner | | Part Number | 3178530402278 | | Product Benefits | Delicious and satisfying, made with fresh ingredients | | Product Dimensions | 4 x 23.8 x 9.8 cm; 175.77 g | | Recommended Uses For Product | Snacking, everyday use | | Region of Origin | France | | Size | 5.29 Ounce (Pack of 1) | | UPC | 852662731767 | | Unit Count | 150 Grams | ## Product Details - **Brand:** St Michel - **Flavour:** Butter - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Occasion:** Wedding - **Unit count:** 150 Grams ## Images ![St Michel La Grande Galette Butter Cookies, Caramel, 5.29 Ounce - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71SfCQU0JkL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: why were these mailed in an envelope with no bubble wrap or other protection.
