Review: Sehr gute HDD auch für einen Gaming PC super geeignet! - Diese Festplatte ist ja eigentlich für Videoüberwachung gedacht, jedoch habe ich vermehrt davon gelesen das sie auch als Speicherplatte (nicht Systemplatte) für den gewöhnlichen PC sehr gut geeignet sei. Ich benutze die WD Purple als zweite Festplatte in meinem System neben einer SSD, ich spiele Hauptsächlich und mache etwas Office. Für beide Anwendungen ist die Purple für mich der beste Weg aus Geschwindigkeit/Lautstärke. Diese Platte zeichnet sich wirklich "für eine HDD" durch ihren Geräuschpegel aus! Eine der leisesten Platten überhaupt. Natürlich macht sie auch Geräusche jedoch sind diese wie gesagt recht leise. Genau aus diesem Grund habe ich mich auch für genau diese Platte entschieden. Alle anderen Platten von WD sind lauter (sogar die Green) und mit Seagate muss ich gar nicht erst anfangen, kann ich absolut nicht empfehlen als INTERNE HDD, SEHR laut! Extern ist was anderes, da finde ich Seagate wiederum sehr gut. Ich hatte davor eine "Seagate ST1000DM003" und diese ist im Betrieb knappe 10db lauter!!! Viele haben bei dieser Platte geschrieben sie sei leise.. Quascht, sehr laute Geräusche, zwar schnelle Platte aber leider laut. Muss jeder für sich entscheiden was man möchte. Die Performance von der WD Purple ist auch gut bis sehr gut für eine Platte die nicht 7200rpm besitzt. Geschwindigkeit ist im Anhang. Ich hoffe ich kann mit dieser Rezension einigen helfen :), denn ich fand es ziemlich schwer sich für eine der vielen Festplatten zu entscheiden. Ich kann die WD Purple sehr empfehlen, da hat WD sehr gute Arbeit geleistet. Bei Fragen stehe ich gern zur Verfügung.

**Q: Is it good for primari drive and OS installation?**
A: Hi Alexander, the Purple Series was developed to be turned on 24/7 and are very reliable. As it was developed to arquive files the need to be available all the time it spin at just 5400 rpm. Way too slow for the big systems available today. It,s ideal to put a 7200rpm disk or even a SSD to boot. In my computer I have a 256GB SSD disk to boot and the main programs and two  2TB 7200rpm drives to other files. So I don´t think the purple drive is good to use as a boot disk.

**Q: Will this drive go into my q-see surveillance system model qt5682 which has a 1tb and i'm wanting to upgrade to a 2tb drive.**
A: Yes, yes it will. I have a 3TB drive of this series in my qsee system (QC448) for over  1 1/2 years now running 24/7 and not one hickup so far. These are the best drives for surveillance but not excluded other purposes (in my case file server)

**Q: Can you replace a 2.0 with a 4.0?**
A: Yes, most DVRs and NVRs support 2TB hard drive and larger.

**Q: Is this compatible with a hikvision nvr?**
A: Yes, it work with anr DVR that support sata hd

He usado esta marca en mi pc 💻 y es el primer wd que he tenido problema para que fuera reconocido una vez que lo reconoció, no pudo ser particionado y se tuvo problemas al montaje como unidad lógica en el Windows, se devolvió con éxito, posteriormente se compro de 4 tb y han funcionado muy bien de esta marca.
