Lps 3 is easily removed with brake cleaner. For a more long term rust prevention you should look at lps Procyon which is hard coat dryfilm. **Q: Can this be used for grills? Concerned about cooking after using it. Thanks in advance.** A: I’ve always used it to protect my firearms while they are in storage. I heard that it could be used for anything and it was specifically designed with the restaurant industry in mind. However I do not know if that is true. I was introduced to LPS-2 and LPS-3 by a technician who served Craftsman snow throwers over 30 years ago . He recommended it for the chutes and parts that came in contact with snow to lubricate and prevent rust. I have used it for years on various products, especially good for bearings on garage doors. He did not have anything like LPS-4 and I have never seen it anywhere. LPS sprays leave a thin self healing film to protect and lubricate metal. It may work in a marine environment but I don't know.
