I do not use a comb to detangle, finding the paddle brush kinder to my hair. I brush thru while conditioning. I use a leave-in conditioner, natural styling anad that's it. Even when applying heat the same routine. Do not use the product if you have any doubts. There is no need. **Q: can this undread locked, matted hair?** A: I'm not sure. From what I've seen in my hair, its mostly for tangled, curly hair. For locked or matted hair, that may have to be cut. I don't think any detangler can help locked or matted hair. Please try Avocado Oil or Grapeseed Oil for locked hair.
