A lot of products say they are organic, but to be Certified as Organic is a strict, regulated process, and we are proud to say that we now have that certification. Our shilajit always adhered to organic guidelines but without certification to back that up, we could only truly say wild-crafted. Now, we can proudly use the label Organic and we have the Certification to prove that. In order to be Certified Organic, we had to obtain leases for both areas in the Himalayas where our shilajit is obtained. No one else is able to use that area or take shilajit from there. You mentioned that all shilajit is organic ... I'm afraid that is far from true. Shilajit is a wild-gathered product, and unless you have complete control of the area (a lease) you cannot control cross-contamination risk, who has been there, or how they used it. There is a big difference between claiming to be organic, and complying with the strict requirements to become Certified.Our shilajit does begin as a sticky black/dark brown resinous botanical when it's gathered. We gently dry it using a low heat oxidation process (below 96 degrees F), making sure our shilajit remains raw and retains all of the natural benefits.
