## Overview

The Micca RB42-C is a premium center channel speaker featuring dual 4-inch woofers and a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter, engineered with a 10-element crossover for superior tonal balance and clarity. Its robust bass and smooth midrange deliver crystal-clear dialogue and immersive sound, all housed in a stylish dark walnut enclosure designed for versatile placement in home theater or bookshelf setups. Ideal for small to medium rooms, it requires an amplifier and is perfect for audiophiles seeking high-quality sound without breaking the bank.

## Description

The Micca RB42-C is a handsomely styled center channel speaker that delivers a level of performance that belies its affordable price. With robust bass and midrange output and a silky smooth sound signature, it renders movie dialogue and music with clarity and authority. Dressed up in dark wood pattern and clean modern lines, this is a speaker you won’t feel the urge to hide. Its symmetrical design also means that the RB42-C can be used vertically as bookshelf speakers when purchased in a pair. Bring the theater experience home and enjoy all your movies from the best seat in the house! Note that the RB42-C is a passive speaker and requires an amplifier or receiver to produce sound. It cannot be connected directly to a TV, turntable, or computer. Each of the two 4-inch woofers is built on a truncated heavy steel frame and substantial magnet structure. Its long-throw design incorporates a coated pressed paper cone with a concave dust cap, large radius rubber surround, and vented pole piece. The tweeter is based on Micca’s popular 0.75-inch silk dome design, using a high-efficiency neodymium magnet and small bezel for tight driver spacing. Distortion and coloration are effectively reduced through the use of ¾-inch thick MDF panels on all sides of the enclosure, with 100% miter joints for greater bonding contact area. The enclosure is stuffed to specific density with polyfill to eliminate resonance and enhanced enclosure tuning. Translucent mesh fabric over beveled thin frame makes up the acoustically transparent grill cover. The RB42-C owes its tonal balance and transparency to a 10-element crossover that uses high-grade film capacitors and air-core coils for key components. Both the tweeter and woofer circuits have an 18dB/octave slope to enhance power handling, dramatically reduced lobing, and superior off-axis performance. An audiophile-grade 5-way binding post rounds out the package.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For those who use the rb42s with this, what amp/receiver do you use? planning on a 3.1 set up for now and possibly upgrade to a 5.1 someday. thanks.**
A: I use a Denon x1600h I got on sale. Can get a renewed one on Amazon right now for $330. Could also search used/sales for 5-7ch's. Check homeaudio/theater and alike sub-reddits for recommendations/sites for deals, etc. I don't utilize other channels except the sub out at the moment but I didn't want to box myself in. Love my Denon and these Micca's sound stunning for the $.

**Q: Is this a better center channel than the mb42x?**
A: Simply put, yes it is. This is Micca’s “Reference” line which took the great parts about the MB series of products and made them even better sounding, and arguably better looking. I’m biased at this point but I don’t think there’s any better value in high fidelity speakers. Get one and enjoy!

**Q: I have 4 sony cs-5 bookshelve speakers for a 5.1 system. would the rb42-c be a good match for center channel ?**
A: El Jay, the Micca RB42-C is a very balanced sounding speaker that will make a good center channel. The Sony's you currently are listening to have a sensitivity rating of 87db and the Micca's are rated at 86db. That is close enough. I do not know the sound characteristics of the Sonys so I can't tell how they would blend in a system. Hope this helps.

**Q: Do you need special cables to hook these up?**
A: You speaker wires need banana plugs on the end that hooks to the speaker. If your wires need these plugs, they are very inexpensive and you can get the kind that don't need tools or solder to connect.
