The DP-24 has 12 mono channels and 6 "Fixed"stereo channels. The DP-32 has 8 mono channels and 10 stereo or mono channels. You can only record 8 tracks at once so either 8/mono or 4/stereo (each stereo channel counts as 2 tracks) or any combination not to exceed 8 tracks. The processing and Physical layout are the same pretty much the same. **Q: Does this come with a power supply and SD card, or do I need to buy them separately? I don't see anything about that in the description.** A: Yes on the power supply and sd card but you might want to buy a bigger sd card if your planning on recording alot. **Q: Do you have to record through the built in recorder or can you use a daw on your pc too?** A: Not sure how to but you can, that's made to record instrumentals and also vocals, I didn't need it because I make my instrumentals with a software so went with protools for vocals. **Q: How do you solo or mute a track? I upgraded from the 8 track version and this is just as easy to use, but you get more tracks and nice features like usable on-board effects ( the noise suppressor works awesome when micing a high gain marshall to reduce hiss on mute parts!) - it has stereo inputs so if you use a roland or similar drum setup, you can input to a dual stereo track and adjust everything as one track. The mastering features are great and the recordings come out with plenty of headroom - noticable upgrade from the 16bit versions for sure!
