Review: Finally found a headphone for silent guitar practice - I have a blackstar tube guitar amp and the AKG K240 pairs perfectly for practice session daily. Best part is that is is semi open back so the sound is crisp and well balanced without any processing most other headphones on the market do. The guitar Mids and high notes sound amazing. I also use the K240 to listen to music with my Ipod. The K240 headphone is super light and Ear buds are so comfortable that you hardly feel it on the head. Another great bonus is the long 3m cable and it easily pops out of the main head unit as due to its xrl connection

And buy a replaceable pads for these, tried the stocks it hurts my ear for a few hours. Yeah that's only downside I saw.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is better for recording and mixing guitar, vocals (for metal). And mixing them. AKG 240 or Audio-Technica ATH-M50? Why?**
A: I can't comment on the ATH-M50, as I haven't used one yet. The AKG 240 however is a very good set, but I wouldn't use headphones to mix final masters. Especially not when you have to listen to screaming guitars. For tracking vocals you should be carefull as a sensitive mic would "listen" to the headphones too. Not always welcome when recording soft passages. Hope this helps

**Q: Is this an original brand? or It is made in China**
A: The inside sticker on a pair of these purchased in 2020 shows that it is "Made in China". The production country doesn't always indicate the quality as many name-brands have been outsourced to China.

**Q: How LONG in feet is the detachable cord?**
A: 9-10 Feet.

**Q: Where could you find a shorter cord? I'd prefer one say only 3 foot long for using with my phone on walks an such.**

I have a blackstar tube guitar amp and the AKG K240 pairs perfectly for practice session daily. Best part is that is is semi open back so the sound is crisp and well balanced without any processing most other headphones on the market do. The guitar Mids and high notes sound amazing. I also use the K240 to listen to music with my Ipod. The K240 headphone is super light and Ear buds are so comfortable that you hardly feel it on the head.
