Most resins have a slight oily residue on them from the casting process. I usually let mine soak in a luke warm cup of water for a few hours, then lightly wipe with a scrubbing cloth. Since I had to keep it, I used it. I love this stuff. I had a screw that was stripped, it fixed it! I had a shower hook that was bent and wouldn't tighten properly, the glue fixed it.
