A: Its reasonably thick, certainly comfortable and would accept another average insole to be fitted but not a very thick one.

A: the waxed leather finish is a soft non polished finish , shows the distressing of wear and scuffs with a waxed feel to the leather , personally I like this look for what is a functional casual boot. this is not a suede finish, no risen fibres or napping.
