After devoting himself to depicting desolated landscapes and borderline realities, D'Agata focuses his art on his intimate human relations. His latest work focuses on body and flesh, in a narrow room. This film catches the hidden part of his art making; his choice of living on the edge and experiencing sex with extreme vitality. It is an apocalyptic and sublime journey, similar to the ones of other heretic artists of contemporary culture, from Jack Kerouac to Antonin Artaud, from Francis Bacon to Pier Paolo Pasolini. Tommaso Lusena de Sarmiento is a film director and a director of photography. He works as director of photography for television and cinema alongside directors such as Franco Maresco. Since 2011 he has held filmmaking seminars at the Scuola d'arte Cinematografica Gian Maria Volonte in Rome. "The Cambodian Room" (2009) is his first feature documentary. Giuseppe Schillaci is a director and a writer. In 2010 his first novel "L'anno delle ceneri" (Nutrimenti, Italy) was nominated for the Strega Italian Book Award and reached the final selection for the John Fante award. I purchased it thinking I was getting a book of photographs accompanied by a DVD. It is actually a DVD accompanied by 16 pages of text in english, repeated in italian and french. Besides a cover photograph, there are two photographs accompanying the text. Review: desertcart forgot to leave out a Very important detail - This arrived on time and in great shape, however this is a PAL, non-U.S. compatible DVD. Now I have to pay someone with the right equipment - idk probably $20-30 - to have it transferred to be played on an American DVD player. I see no mention of this anywhere in the product description.
