**Q: battery run time**
A: It really would depend on the type of battery ,marine battery deep cycle works best. and the amount of  water entering your basement . From a few hours to all day

**Q: If my main pump fails will the back up kick in?**
A: That will only happen if you have the battery back-up unit in Working order. It is designed to kick in when the power fails or if the power has been out and the float switch on the main unit is activated and then the battery unit takes over.  You need to consult the owner's manual for the exact info.

**Q: Can this run semi-continuous while connected to AC power when main pump fails? Wayne controller had burning smell while charging and running.**
A: The unit has its' own floats, so the pump will run when the water level raises the float, so it depends on where you place the backup pump float.  Place it above the main unit float so if the water level continues to rise due to a failed main pump, the backup pump will kick-in.

**Q: I got this hooked up and activated the float to test.  The pump activated, but when I lowered the float it kept running.  Is the controller defective?**
A: When the float switch for the backup pump is activated, he pump will run on a timer which is usually around 25-30 seconds. I would recommend testing it again and give it at least a minute to shut off. For further information contact our service team at 800-991-0466 option 3.
