I used these for a very wet muddy winter walk and they did the required job of keeping much of the thick Cotswold mud off me and stopped most of the splash from soaking me. Easy to put on and the Velcro fastening, once adjusted, kept the gaiters in place. You don’t realise you’re wearing them. Kept my legs warm in the snow and cold conditions in Norway. Have just purchased a second pair in exactly the same size. Same length and circumference but the upper part of these gaiters is no longer as robust material, not as thick and feels like it will tear if having to go through thorns, unlike my first pair, hence 4 stars. Shame they changed the material, would rather have paid more for the strength.
