It appears to be very sturdy and fit the dash perfectly. As per the instructions, you will need to iron this when you unpackage it. There was no funky smell to it, like you have with some new car items. It looks very nice. The only things I wish is that I could have purchased it in another color to match the interior of my van. We have not had the opportunity to velcro it to the dash yet, but it is staying in place without it.
