## Questions & Answers

**Q: The burr knob won’t turn to unlock or lock. What am I doing wrong?**
A: I don’t know. This is a terrible coffee grinder. It’s very messy and poorly designed.

**Q: What setting is best for making one cup of coffee with an Aeropress?**
A: It will depend on what you like. I would start with the finest setting. If it’s stronger than you like, go with a coarser grind.

**Q: When I grind my beans and open the container, there’s like a white smoke coming out? Is that from the beans or what**
A: Mine does not do that. I have it set on the finest setting.

**Q: To grind beans, do I lock the burr or leave it unlocked?**
A: The burr has to be locked to grind the beans.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little coffee grinder
*by T***N on July 24, 2022*

Bought this to use with my French press and quite happy with the result! On sale, this model was about as cheap as any basic blade chopper style coffee grinder and still reasonably priced. The burr-based grinding makes nice work of coffee beans. Whether it's precise enough for science, it's a pretty consistent grind that me nor my French press can complain about. The side knob that controls the coarseness of the grind ranges from powder like (smaller dots) to a more pebble like (larger dots) size. The third dot from the top works great for my press making something coarse enough for my purposes. Don't have the experience with espresso machines to know if the finest settings would work for that, but probably. It certainly can grind much finer than a drip maker would require and coarse enough for a press. The timing function is suitable and decently effective. Using the measuring Tbsp from my French press makes about 1 cup worth of "Timer" cups. I get about 2 scoops from the grinder's little measuring spoon / brush combo, but YMMV based on measuring methods and equipment.Cleaning is fairly straight forward. Unplug, twist off the burr, remove any remaining beans (if any), brush off, wipe out the compartment. Go brush and rinse off the grounds bin. Vola, done. If it's clean and dry from the beginning, I'm sure the grounds bin would work fine for measuring on a scale and easy dump into the hopper; just remember to put the lid on and the bin in the slot before you make a funny face ;)The best part? Unlike the manual grinder I had started with, there's no several minute wait or exhaustion from hand cranking several loads. It's just measure, fill, press, and listen to the soft hum. If it gets unusually loud that means it finished the beans and you should press the button again to stop it.Provided the machine is still trucking several years from now. think the only negative comment I can make is the first time I tried to twist the burr and remove for initial cleaning; it required a fair bit of force. That was probably because it sat in warehouse somewhere a good while before making its ways into the hands of a coffee drinker.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yas!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for to create singleserve coffee for my Keurig. I was able to use the dial to create the perfect grind and I’m able to store more than enough in the front storage. It’s not an obnoxiously loud motor. I love the sleek design. I’m able to store it on top of my cake up storage. And for the price I definitely would gift one of these to another whole bean coffee connoisseur. I did not taste a change in the been and there was a consistent even grind throughout the bean when I was scooping into my pods. It can also be simply adjusted for the French press for my husband as soon as I’m done if necessary .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for drip and french press, but not for espresso.

I was worried when It was time to seek out a new grinder. My past experience with low-avg. price grinders is that they never grind fine enough (even on the max fine grind setting) to pull a good espresso shot...even if they call the finest grind setting an 'espresso grind'. So, not wanting to spend too much money and needing something fairly fast, I decided to go with this one. It was sleek looking, compact (the main selling point for me,) and would hopefully do what I needed it to do… But alas, just as I feared, it simply doesn't reach the grind that I need for my espresso. Now don't get me wrong, this little machine works well and looks great on my countertop! It runs really well, the grinds are even, and is so fast that I really don’t need to mess with the 'timer'. It's also easy to clean. I love how you can just twist and pull out the burr from the top for cleaning. It’s noisy though (which is expected,) but with all of that said, even on the finest grind it does not go fine enough for a good puck. The steam/pressure just shoots the water right through it. I have to run the grounds twice through the machine in order to get the consistency I need to pull my crema shot. Now I do get a perfect crema shot by doing this, so I’m happy about that, and It still saves me time, but it's annoying to not be able to use the hopper as it's intended.Overall, if you have a regular coffee machine or have a french press, then you will be very happy with what it produces for its price point.Side note: I do agree with the other reviewers on the timer. It doesn't match up to the 'cup size'/amount of beans (at least not for the finest setting.) The timer is basically like a toaster, you set it for the length of time you want it to run, so really, it's easy to adjust. Not a deal breaker. And It does produce a lot of static, but that comes with the territory with these metal burrs/plastic housings. You just give the container a few good ‘thumps’ on the counter before opening it.
