These are a little tough to get lit if you dont have a torch, I use a small propane hand held torch and just hit the end of the tube for 30 to 40 second then let it burn for one to two minutes. Blow it out and let it smolder, runs about 4 hours or so and adds additional smoke flavor to your food. I have done around 50 lbs of cheese and these work great as they produce very little heat so almost a cold smoke. Made of Stainless steel so they last, easy to use if you have the right tool to light them with and I recommend trying the smoked cheese. Just allow the cheese to sit a day or two at least so the smoke can mellow out, the longer the better.

I have several of these now and I use them for not only cold smoking but for briskets and ribs when you want to add more smoke but less heat. As the reader has probably noticed, many pellet tube sellers are charging more for one than these people are charging for two. You might wonder about quality. These look good to me and I've used one of them 8 times now and its holding up beautifully. The cleaning and basting brushes are nothing special but are decent and a nice addition. I'm happy with mine and my neighbor is quite happy with the other one, which I gave him. p.s. I just looked at the 1 star reviews. Some are about missing back plates or brushes - legitimate complaints. Others, however, are complaints that the tubes don't generate much smoke or that the pellets go out. This is a case of user error! A quick look at smoke tubes on Youtube will show that you MUST light the pellets for 1 minute with a heat source like a propane torch and then let the pellets burn for AT LEAST another minute before blowing out the flame in order to get a sure light. If you don't do that the failure isn't the fault of the tube, its on you. Go fo it.
