Well insulated glasses do not get hot or cold to the touch nor do they “sweat” in humid conditions, so they do not require a coaster. These also have an integrated non slip silicone disc on the bottom. After over a year of daily use and daily cycles in the dishwasher, the glasses still look like new. OBTW, stainless steel does not have the health risk associated with plastic and, if you do happen to drop one, they don’t shatter like glass and make a mess to clean up.
