Review: Perfect to split 5.1 audio from laptop output - This product is amazing! After trying several alterative and considerably more expensive options - which didn't work - this unit delivered flawless performance and synchronisation at a fantastic price point so I would highly recommend. If you require 5.1 Dolby audio from a laptop (which in general don't have the required outputs), this is probably the easiest and cheapest solution. Obvious in and out on the HDMI line and then use an optical cable to connect your preferred decoder / amplifier, it even has a stereo mixdown additional output so it literally does everything. Installed mine in a 4k home cinema with Sony projector and Denon surround sound unit - it’s literally better than going to my local Odeon!

A: Thank you for asking question of this hdmi audio splitter, I am sorry that our product does not output 1080P 120Hz, so it will not work on a 120hz 1080p monitor.

**Q: Is this compatible with sonos playbar? playbar connected to my old tv via optical audio but the new tv does not have one.**
A: Yes we use it to split the hdmi output from a fire box to the optical in on an older Yamaha amp with no hdmi input.

**Q: Does the sound carry through the hdmi to the tv or will all sound be removed via this device?**
A: Not sure I have min connected to ps5 to projector then optic to sound bar as no optic on ps5

This product is amazing! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Budget priced box that does the job

I bought this to get the audio to pass through my stereo system into my speakers from my firestick which was connected to my Epson projector. The set up is easy but for some reason the audio wouldn't come through I just kept getting a ticking noise so I turned everything off and connected it up again then turned on 1 projector 2 firestick 3 hdmi audio converter with switch selected to 2ch 4 stereo system and this eventually worked. The sound and picture quality is good and now I am happy with the purchase.
