Instructional video makes it pretty clear what to do with them, but you could also probably figure it out with a little common sense. One word of caution... make sure they are fully tightened to the shoe before you clip in... I wanted to test out the placement of the cleat for my foot positioning before I went ahead and fully tightened, so I clipped into the bike... and promptly got stuck. Took a while to clip out b/c the loose cleat just wanted to slide back and forth. So don't be an idiot like me -- tighten before you test! They are easy enough to screw/unscrew with a basic screwdriver. They installed easily with the 3 screws provided. The metal washers aren't a perfect fit inside of the clip slots but it gives you room to adjust and doesn't affect the operation. These clips do provide room for your shoe to move around just a little while "clipped in" which I like. If you want clips that lock in your shoes with no range of motion then these aren't for you.
