Review: Sturdy, solid, knife. - Grip is hand-filling - the scales match up with the full rang VERY well, I bet they were finished together. This Will Not Slip out of your grasp. Thick blade - great heft. The edge is much better finished (more polished than ground) than most. I'm keeping this brand on my short list for knives - it's a bargain.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is it for producing a spark (using back edge against ferro rod)? Is it a 90° angle or is the top edge of knife slightly rounded?**
A: You will not be able to produce a spark from a ferro rod using the spine of the knife due to the coating, which is with any knife with same type of protective coating. Has to be bare metal so I recommend using the blade side at the end by the choil and handle. This knife if heavy, robust, sharp and can take the abuse. Other “bushcraft” type knives have little ferro grooves designed into the choil for striking a ferro rod, this one doesn’t have that. Also, stay away from none carbon type blades, they don’t won’t produce sparks. D2 steel has carbon and stainless steel mixture so will spark a rod.

A: I've wouldn't baton with anything d2 unless you're trying to turn one good knife into two useless ones.

I got this knife as my first higher-value knife after breaking a number of cheaper knives; I figured it was time to upgrade or get stuck in a cycle of re-buying my tools over and over. I was initially impressed; the knife was clean and sharp, it felt great in my hand, I was very fond of the sheath, and overall I was really satisfied. Then disaster struck when the belt clip broke! I wrote to the company and they sent me not only a replacement belt clip, but an accessory and a free key chain. Everyone needs to stop and pay attention because this is how you do customer service. While I may buy other knives for their meme value in the future, if I'm ever asked what's a damned good everyday knife, I'll point them to Off-Grid Knives.
