They have a little bit of a smell to them when she chews it but definitely not as bad as bully sticks. One of these lasts through a few of her chew sessions. If I let her chew it all in one session (which I would never do or never recommend), it would probably take her at least 3-4 hours to get through it.

**Q: Do they splinter?**
A: The answer is...on occasion. In my experience, it depends upon several factors. How dry it is in your home (ambient humidity), and how fast your dog eats them. You can always soak them in water briefly (but if you're buying the horns with marrow, be forewarned, this will make them more fragrant). And watch your dog to make sure they aren't scarfing it down. The more they chew = the more saliva = less splintering. I would like to add that a dog's intestinal process is much more supportive of eating things like this, and has evolved over thousands of years to eat bones, which are much hard. These horns are collagen. A splintered piece is very unlikely to do harm to a healthy dog.

**Q: How many come in the pack?**
A: Not sure. But my dogs ate theses in about 10 minutes..

**Q: do these expire? I have had 3 of them for over a year and the tags have no expiration date.**
A: No

**Q: Can my lab have small size? he’s very petite, not typical big lab. i don’t want to spend too much or get too big unless i know if he likes it yet**
A: I would not give this to a dog over 5 mos with adult teeth. It splintered and broke into pieces.  Its hollow in the center.

I received the item so fast I really appreciate it. The item I received was all black and it crumbled very easily and didn’t seem to last as long as the first one I received. I am going to purchase another one and hopefully I will receive the same thing as the first time I bought it
