I love the convenience of canned salmon as a healthy snack mid-day or evening but it has taken a long time to find good quality salmon at a reasonable price. Raincoast is just that. Usually wild pink salmon is flavorless and fishy, but the red chinook is too expensive. Somehow Raincoast has found a way to provide flaky rich salmon as good as red chinook at the price of pink.As for the skin and bones, yes, it contains them and that is a good thing. The omega-3 fatty acids concentrate in the skin, and the bones, softened by the canning process, are an excellent source of calcium. I actually seek out canned fish WITH skin and bones (such as Wild Planet Wild Sardines). I especially like that it has the bones and skin in it, which provides LOTS of extra calcium. It’s all completely edible and delicious.
