Lightweight is best for hikes but something heavier and cheaper would be OK for home or near your car. For me this tripod was YES to the first three questions and for my hikes its Lightweight was a YES to the fourth. I would strongly recommend the carbon fibre (7C) version rather than the aluminum one (7A) for this very reason and it folds up nicely for carrying. I also like the Arca Swiss compatible ball head for simplicity of use, security and its wider choice of available L brackets. It would be nice if the ball head had a friction adjustment, but at this price I cannot really complain.
