It's not a masculine or feminine smell, and I don't think it smells particularly like black licorice, but the smell is medium-strong and sticks around for a while-- whatever it is.As for dry skin / psoriasis, I can say it definitely helps. I've had a dry flakey scalp once or twice a year my entire life, and no over the counter product has helped so far- at least not long term.This however did start working and it did it quickly. I put it on last night, rubbed it into my scalp, and this morning I'm noticing far fewer flakes on my shoulders and my scalp doesn't itch as much anymore. It still itches but I hope that after a few days even that might go away.A little bit goes a long way, so don't go crazy with a bunch of sprays into your hair. It takes a while to dry and it's a little uncomfortable until it does.It says don't rinse, so I didn't. I would only do this at night before bed, or if I did it in the morning, I'd do it half an hour before washing my hair.
