Blades are honed to a razor like finish and have a tapered shape making the blade wider near the top where strength is needed and thinner at the bottom, greatly reducing drag as the blade cuts through the rubber. Blades are sold in packages of 12. Note: Do not use these blades in "ALL-IN-ONE" style groovers! Review: A must have! - These extra blades are a must have when purchasing the tire groover. Blades are strong and do their job. I have found that running the groover on a medium/high heat setting helps the blades last much longer. High heat cuts a little faster, but it makes the blades weak really fast. Review: Grooving blades - So, they cut like butter for about 3 minutes and then they break or bend. I’ve done this before so I don’t believe it’s operator error. I went through almost a whole pack on 4 tires. WOW!!! I’ll probably look for another option next time.
