It's not "odor proof", I would call it odor resistant. Best to keep really smelly stuff in a separate bag inside of this - that's where this product is magic. There is a very tiny 1-2 mm end gap in the zipper when fully closed and these types of zippers won't completely seal. Seems to be well made with strong outside fabric. There's a decent amount of charcoal in the lining. The side walls are fairly thick. It does absorb most of the odor - at least while new. I suspect the charcoal will need a recharge after awhile. It will eventually become saturated. I'll probably just prop it open and set it out in direct sunlight for a day. That should refresh the charcoal. For the price, GREAT product! I go along with the other 5 star reviews as long as the zipper holds up. That's the weak point because ALL zippers wear out. If it can't make it at least 2 years, I'll be back to reclaim a star.
