This TH9320WF5003 is white and the RTH9580WF1005 is silver. The RTH9580WF1005 is the retail model with a 1 year warranty and this one is intended to be a contractor only model with a 5 year warranty. Honeywell's former policy was that the TH9320WF5003 warranty wouldn't be honored if not installed by a contractor. However, they have since changed this. You now get 1 year with this too if you install it yourself. **Q: What do you mean bty requiring "C" wire?** A: In an HVAC system there is a step-down transformer that takes the 240VAC or 120VAC and steps it down to 24VAC. The primary side of the 24VAC is what has always been connected the R terminal of a thermostat. The secondary side of the 24VAC transformer was not. It is this secondary side of the 24VAC that is needed by newer thermostats. In fact the newer thermostats are powered by 24VAC. That secondary side of the transformer is what is connected to the C terminal. If your cable has a spare unconnected wire. It could be connected to the secondary of the transformer and you can check for it To see if it is there but but not connected, us a VOM and set for AC Voltage, put one lead on the R terminal, and the second lead to each unconnected wire(s), one at a time. if it shows 24VAC +/- 4VAC, you found the secondary side. All other wires will show OC or open. That secondary side wire is the C wire. If not found, an HVAC technician can come and make the connection of the spare unused wire at the HVAC unit side. There is deadly voltage and currents in the HVAC system so do not try this yourself. **Q: If power goes out and wi-fi is lost, can it be reconnected remotely or automatically?** A: Most often this will reconnect. On the occasion it does not, restart your modem. You may have to reconnect to Wi-Fi again but this is rare. **Q: will it still function if not connected to the internet?** A: It must have a connection to their website, and if either your internet goes down or their website is not available, you can only control it from the thermostat itself.
