Review: These work better than my old pair. Very strong magnets. - These are nice and stick to my vice better than my last pair. My last pair had the magnets out of phase and they jumped off when you closed the vice jaws. I put up with those for far too long. Thse are nice and there is a cut out for holding round barstock or a bolt or a rod. They stay where I put them and they dont scratch things up when I work on bicycle parts. I recommend these...a good value and they work like they should.

**Q: I have a 5inch vice, should I go for the medium or large?**
A: I have the large and it is the same size as the 6in jaws on the vide. I think the large would be a bit big in a 5 inch vise . So I would go with a medium .

**Q: Is this item sold as a set of two jaw protectors (one for each vise jaw)? The description leaves some doubt.**
A: Yes. One set... a jaw protector for each vise jaw.

**Q: Is the new improved version being sent now and / or is it possible I would receive the older version?**
A: the older version should be all gone.

**Q: Will they hold a gun stock with out marring or denting for checkering?**
A: It will hold a gun stock, but it's hard plastic and would very likely mar/dent the finish ... I wouldn't risk it.

Very nice. The flat sides of the jaws extend down far enough to be useful for woodworking. The magnets are strong enough to hold the unit in place without slippage, but not so strong as to pull out of the plastic and need to be glued back in (a problem I experienced with another brand.). This product functions “as expected”.
