I don't really see the need to spend more money on a brand name when this has the same active ingredient..and it works! It will leave a little flakiness, mostly from the product being left on overnight, but it didn't dry out my skin or cause any adverse/unwanted reactions. I have never struggled with acne but now in my mid 30s, once a month when my hormones ramp up, I get one problem area/zit that returns with a vengeance.
