I could force it by drilling new screw holes in the pad, but the pads as they are, no matter how I tried, just will not fit this rifle. I like everything I see about the product. I will not return it. I will look at other rifles and see which one it might work with. I have excellent pads on my other magnum rifles, so I don't know if I will use this one to replace one of those. I really don't need the recoil benefit on lighter rifles. It lists several manufacturers that are compatible to this, unfortunately, the CVA was not one of them. I should have taken notice of that. Pay close attention to that list. I am not disappointed with the product. I welded together a jig, and used some drum Sanders on my variable speed drill press and when finished, this recoil pad looks professional my rifle. It also makes all the difference between the nylon butt plate that was on it before.
