The nylon appears heavy duty, not dull but not shiny either, the zipper is large and works well, plenty of pockets, the tunnel hood is well-designed. The fur trim is removable. XL fits rather snugly (I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs), but leaves room for a heavy sweater. The sleeves could be a little wider though. It doesn't feel bulky like the CG Expedition, but after a few minutes it becomes too warm when indoors (which is a good thing). It remains to be seen how it holds against subzero temperatures and gusty winds.... Follow up: I tested the parka in January in northwestern Russia, where I spent several days wandering the frozen streets of SPb. At -20F with strong wind, it felt quite comfortable (I had a T-short and a light fleece pullover underneath). The parka is rated for -40. I guess it must be survivable, with proper layering and if you move. Review: Could have been best jacket in the world - I love the Pajar brand, they make great shoes, and overall their apparel is very trendy. I ordered this coat because it was very trendy looking, but also had alot of great features. I have been trying to find the perfect jacket this winter, and I have ordered tried on and returned 6 jackets so far. Unfortunately I ended up returning this jacket and will explain why below. Pros: It arrived promptly and I was impressed when I tried it on with the quality of the materials used. They had little things that I thought were wonderful, like zippers at the sides so you can reach your pocket without hiking up the parka bottom. The jacket is very well made and I can see it being totally water resistant as advertised. The inside materials are very warm, and many of the pockets are fleece lined. Cons: The jacket is heavy, and very bulky. At one point I was willing to deal with the bulk because the jacket was nice, but for some strange reason the bulk in the bottom side panel pockets is excessive. When wearing the jacket it feels as though someone inflated the side pockets with air. Not sure what that is about. Its very weird when I sit down. I commute on the train everyday so its even weirder trying to grab a seat and my pockets need their own seat. Also there is a cinch in the back that is part of the design, I have wide shoulders so it looks a bit odd. The materials used for the jacket could be lighter, they add some unnecessary bulk. What I would change: I Would shorten the lenght of the jacket to say 32in I would change the material for the shell to a lighter material that is still water resistant but flexible, this jacket makes me feel like im wearing kevlar. I would fix the issue with the side pockets I would reduce the interior bulk to create a more streamlined jacket. Most people who buy these coats either commute or drive with their coat on, I dont think mens coat designers take this stuff into consideration when they make these super bulky coats that are anti-communter.
