I determined the problem was a poor connection in the RR tail light circuit board. I then bought a set (R & L) of replacement boards from a major on-line auto parts company. One of the boards they sent me was defective. When I looked at their construction, it was obvious that even the one that worked wouldn't last very long. I looked for better quality circuit boards and found these on Amazon. There was a note in the product listing that said these boards had a lower than average return rate, so I ordered them. They are a better design and the build quality is good. I replaced the generic light bulbs included with these boards with name-branded light bulbs and installed the circuit boards in the tail lights of my truck.
