Review: Cute little time with a long ring (not just a "ding") that you can hear from another room - Love this little timer that works great so far; you just have to make sure to wind it all the way to 60 and then back to however long you need it. (I'm old enough to have wound watches, a concept that's foreign to people under 50.) I've had this since Thanksgiving and use it several times a week. I've never double-checked the timer with a stopwatch to be exact but it seems to be accurate. It's very quiet to the point where you have to pick it up to verify that it's ticking (and it always IS.) The movement around the dial is smooth so there's no annoying clicks or loud ticking while it's on. The ring is loud and long enough when the timer goes off that you don't have to have it next to you to hear it. I can easily hear it over the TV from fairly far away from the kitchen, so it's much better than just a single "ding" but it's not loud enough to scare my two cats (they'll look up but if they're under the counter eating their food but they don't freak out or run away.) Hope this helps. I also hope it lasts since it's a lot cuter than a plain blah timer. The cat itself (the "knob" for the timer) is soft rubber/silicone and the base is a velvety feeling plastic. It's very compact and won't take up much room on a small counter or in your cabinet.

Love this little timer that works great so far; you just have to make sure to wind it all the way to 60 and then back to however long you need it. (I'm old enough to have wound watches, a concept that's foreign to people under 50.) I've had this since Thanksgiving and use it several times a week.
