**Q: Can someone please tell me the ingredients and whether they had any success giving it to a cat? thanks**
A: It is called slippery bark (SEB) because it is ground up slippery elm bark. Slippery elm is a type of tree and if I am not mistaken, the product is made from the inner bark. That's it, just slippery elm bark. No calories, no vitamins, no minerals or nutrients of any kind. It is 100% fiber. I don't know about giving it to a cat but I have a cat (very old, has kidney trouble and throws up a lot) and some SEB so maybe I will give him some and see if he gets better or worse.

**Q: is this the same as marshmallow root?**
A: No, they are an entirely different plant. Here's some info on Marshmallow Root:Marshmallow is a plant. The leaves and the root are used to make medicine. Don't confuse marshmallow with the mallow (Malva sylvestris) flower and leaf.Marshmallow leaf and root are used for pain and swelling (inflammation) of the mucous membranes that line the respiratory tract. They are also used for dry cough, inflammation of the lining of the stomach, diarrhea, stomach ulcers, constipation, urinary tract inflammation, and stones in the urinary tract.

**Q: hello slippery elm users!  :-)  after reading many reviews, Im sorry to say I still confused as to the mixing/steeping and drinking this as a 'tea'?**
A: Hi Trishia. I've used this in the treatment of gut health. Learned of it through Dr. Pagano's book, Healing Psoriasis Naturally. What I do: Bring one cup of water to a boil on the stovetop. Add 1 tsp slippery elm bark powder to the pan, stir, cover and turn burner to LOW to simmer. Set a timer for 10-15 min. When timer goes off, transfer to a coffee mug and sip. Be careful, it'l be hot. It does take some getting used to with it's gelatinous-type texture, but honestly not too bad. You can add cinnamon, honey, stevia, whatever helps you sip it better. Some say to gargle before swallowing (good for sore throat). Because this coats your stomach, other supplements taken at the same time may not be absorbed as well, so take some time to space the ingestion of those with this. Also good to do this 1/2 hour before eating breakfast.

**Q: Can anyone who recently bought some vouch for the quality?  I'm looking for a fine grind, not coarse. Is there a seller preference?**
A: I have recently purchased and found it is fine powder, but gritty and I must boil it for it to get dark brown and slimy. If I do not let it boil long enough it is starchy. Purchased in May 2017

I use slippery elm whenever I begin showing symptoms of a cold. Most people use that OTC med Muc…x, but I prefer something natural. A teaspoon of this in a cup of tea and I am well on my way to getting rid of all that clogged up mucus. Remember to drink a lot of non-caffeine beverages to stay hydrated or it won’t work the way you need it to. Your body needs to be hydrated to be able to thin secretions and caffeine is dehydrating. This is a great product from an excellent company. It is easy to use, you don’t notice it because there is no flavor, it will alleviate your symptoms and you will be feeling better much more quickly! It works well! Price is good as compared to some of the competitors out there.
