**Q: Can you microwave this product?**
A: Never put your gourd in a microwave! It doesn't matter whether it is metal or wood. When I drink mate, I put the mate in the gourd, heat my water in a pyrex microwave safe measuring container in the microwave and pour the heated water over the mate in my gourd. I then cover the gourd and let the mate sit for at least five minutes before I drink it.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stainless steel. Well made durable products.
*by on Reviewed in the United States May 2, 2026*

I really liked this cup and the two straws that come with it. This product is durable and well made. It can be used for hot or cold drinks. It can also be used as a wine glass. The straws do their job of keeping the tea leave out of the tea you sip. Therefore, you don’t have to strain out the tea leaves.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice first set

My first Yerba Mate kit. I like the size and shape. It cleans easilyI did replace the bombilla. It did not filter out the particulate matter as well as the more oval shaped one I boughtOverall, I’m very happy with it.
