If so what sort of cable?** A: Yes you need it. Disconnect all cables from battery negative terminal and connect them to StartShunt terminal labeled TO SYSTEM MINUS. Connect SmartShunt terminal labeled TO BATTERY MINUS directly to your battery negative terminal - using new piece of cable. Connect Vbatt+ terminal on SmartShunt to your battery positive terminal using one of the red cable with the fuse provided with SmartShunt.
