It was easy to fit, no problem getting the tops off and connecting. It doesn't claim to treat hard water or act as a water softener. Yet I took a gamble anyway because of the brand and the reviews. I have noticed that soap and shampoo lathers better and my scalp is less itchy. Can't say I have noticed a huge difference in my hair or skin though. So it might help filter out some limescale. I don't get the reviews that are saying it's rubbish for limescale removal when it doesn't claim to be so. This is unfair. Like buying a can opener and saying it's rubbish at unscrewing jars of pickles. For me, it was worth the punt and I think it works a bit.
