It was almost identical, but after years of use, the waterproof backing had started to wear out, so it was time for a replacement. I'm very happy with this one. One of the things I like most is how flexible the fitted skirt is. It stretches easily around the corners of the mattress and stays securely in place without constantly slipping off. The bottom features a waterproof vinyl backing that effectively protects the mattress from spills and accidents, while the top has a soft, cotton-like terry fabric that feels comfortable to sleep on. It does an excellent job preventing liquids from reaching the mattress. Keep in mind, however, that while the mattress stays protected, the top fabric itself can still stain, so it's best to wash it when needed. I've found that washing it in cold water helps preserve the waterproof vinyl backing and keeps it in good condition for a long time. Overall, it's comfortable, fits well, offers excellent protection, and has been a great replacement for my previous mattress protector. I would definitely buy it again. Review: Great mattress protector - Game changer for keeping the mattress safe but easy to remove for cleaning. I’ve tried the zippered ones, and they’re good for an extra layer of protection. But this one is easy to remove and wash with the sheets. Although, drying is kind of a pain. It bunches up in the dryer so I try to dry it individually. No crinkly noise like the old school mattress protectors. Fits great ## Features - 100% Polyester - Mattress Protector - Fits California King size mattress perfectly with dimensions 72 inches by 84 inches by 17 inches, featuring professionally turned hems and deep fitted pockets - Comfort Surface - Soft blended surface is extra absorbent, cozy and breathable. The specially designed waterproof top and high quality seam construction stops liquids from passing through. - Fitted Style All Around Elastic - Mattress protector with a fitted style all round elastic band creates a secure fit on mattress depths - Waterproof Terry Top - The mattress protector protects your mattress from unwelcome spills and keeps your mattress clean and safe. High-quality TPU backing secures your mattress from the top and resists any leakage into the mattress. - Care Instructions - Machine wash cold on gentle cycle; tumble dry low; do not iron; do not bleach; do not use fabric softener (packaging may slightly vary) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00YVPDJXK | | Age Range Description | All Ages | | Best Sellers Rank | #81 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #3 in Mattress Protectors | | Brand | Utopia Bedding | | Brand Name | Utopia Bedding | | Closure Type | Fitted Sheet Style | | Color | White | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 107,604 Reviews | | Fabric Type | 100% Polyester | | Item Weight | 998 g | | Manufacturer | Utopia Bedding | | Manufacturer Part Number | UB0050 | | Material Type | Polyester | | Model Name | UB0050 | | Model Number | UB0050 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Water Proof | | Product Care Instructions | Machine Wash | | Size | California King | | Special Feature | Water Proof | | Thread Count | 200 | | UPC | 840143562900 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Waterproof | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Utopia Bedding - **Color:** White - **Fabric Type:** 100% Polyester - **Size:** California King - **Special Feature:** Water Proof ## Images ![Waterproof California King Mattress Protector fits upto 17" deep Mattresses - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81PF9EQz9jL.jpg) ![Waterproof California King Mattress Protector fits upto 17" deep Mattresses - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71eL13p4E1L.jpg) ![Waterproof California King Mattress Protector fits upto 17" deep Mattresses - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61b+yzIfDpL.jpg) ![Waterproof California King Mattress Protector fits upto 17" deep Mattresses - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61zi4RcVr2L.jpg) ![Waterproof California King Mattress Protector fits upto 17" deep Mattresses - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81TXjE9CgPL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this mattress protector fully waterproof?** A: It is fully waterproof with TPU backing on all six sides that prevents any liquid from reaching your mattress. **Q: How durable is it after multiple washes?** A: It’s machine washable and remains durable afterward. Fits great ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great mattress protector *by U***F on September 16, 2026* I have had this for several months for my son and so far it has been a fantastic buy. It protected the mattress really well multiple times with no wetness to the mattress. It has a good fit and is easy to put on. Looking at past reviews I was concerned but perhaps my tip is to make sure you wash and dry this protector in a cold cycle. Using hot water destroys the lower liquid barrier which is probably why some reviewers complain about it stopping to work. ## Frequently Bought Together - Utopia Bedding Waterproof Mattress Protector California King Size, Premium Terry Mattress Cover 200 GSM, Breathable, Fitted Style with Stretchable Pockets (White) - Bedsure California King Sheets Grey - Soft Sheets for California King Size Bed, 4 Pieces Hotel Luxury California King Sheet Sets, Easy Care Polyester Microfiber Cooling Bed Sheet Set --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/22383210-waterproof-california-king-mattress-protector-fits-upto-17-deep-mattresses](https://www.desertcart.us/products/22383210-waterproof-california-king-mattress-protector-fits-upto-17-deep-mattresses) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
