I bought several of these with the intention of using them only to transport grape juice, but they are so darn easy to work with that I ended up using some of them for fermentation too. They are very lightweight. They can be crumpled or deformed if you treat them harshly, but if you're reasonably careful they will be more than strong enough to transport or hold whatever liquid you put in them. My only word of caution is regarding the width of the mouth and the right size stopper. The ones desertcart suggests to go with these do NOT fit. They are too small. You'll want #10 stoppers. I ordered the "Drilled Rubber Stopper #10 Set of 3" from Home Brew Ohio and they fit perfectly. One other thing to note is that because the plastic sides bend and deform, you will not be able to use any type of vacuum pump with these. We use a drill w/the attachment so it gets a little scratched up on the sides but not hazy. Also, make sure you are using water & sodium/potassium metabisulphate.
