It's extremely well made and appears to be pretty much bombproof, as well as being very compact and slim. It is exactly what I needed. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that I couldn't get it to mount to my G2 as per the directions, and had to play around with it to get it to fit. Once it did, it locks up great. The other issue is that the screws only go into the mount half way, but the directions don't indicate this. I spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong as it seemed like the screws should go all the way in. Finally I emailed the company and within an hour or two they had emailed me back and told me the screws were only intended to go in halfway. Problem solved quickly by GG&G customer service. (Thanks!) If you're looking for a weapons light mount that is not offset, I highly recommend this one. I have several other different mounts that have now been relegated to the scrap heap and am ordering another one of the GG&G for my other carbine. After much searching, I finally decided on the GG&G ring for my modded G2 light. Using a Magpul M-Lock offset mount (MAG604) to mount it to my rail, it worked out EVEN BETTER than my SureFire ring. It moves the light closer to the rail, positioning the Surefire XM07 tailcap almost perfectly for weak-hand operation with my thumb.
