The lid just popped off and just completely blew the lid off and it was all distorted. But I was quickly replaced with a new one. Which is fine. The lid is now completely different from the first one. So answering your question it was not the handle it was the lid at fault. **Q: How dose the fitter bit goes on i have tryed maybe im be being stupid** A: There is no filter. The top opens when you turn the lid, then the water goes in direct no filter. **Q: Owned kettle for a month, it is now tripping electrics and faulty** A: Then it's faulty and should be replaced.
