A: Yes, it works whilst charging.

**Q: Is this bright enough to use for newborn photography?**
A: It is bright but would need to be held fairly close to the subject. I do not know how safe this might be with a baby. But it is adjustable so can be lowered in power.

**Q: Can anyone confirm what the charge time is for the lamp's built in battery.**
A: I've not timed it, but using the micro USB port it takes a long time. At least 8 hours from flat.
