The installation instructions are very clear, and the supplied hardware is first quality. Installation is straightforward, you don't need any handyman skills at all. If you can't clamp to the back of your desk/table AND your desk/table does not have a grommet hole in the top you will need to drill one hole, but otherwise this installs easily with only the supplied hardware and tools. I'm only hanging a 40-incher on it, so I can't say for sure how well it functions with a full 49 on it, but I'm having absolutely no trouble adjusting all the tensions to hold my monitor exactly where I want it and yet it still allows me to change monitor position easily at will. I'd be surprised if there was a problem with a bigger, heavier monitor, but I can't say from personal experience. There's a solid, quality feel to the entire unit.
