But it can shred. You can put a big pile of paper in the top, close lid and it will shred automatically without you having to stand there feeding it. You can also feed a few sheets in at a time on top manually. Pretty hard core. Haven't been able to jam it once. Nice basket, easy to get in and out of. Cant speak to durability, way too soon for that.
