The only downside is that the dial you use to set the temperature is not very accurate, so you'll need to check the temperature with something else when you are getting it set. It's been working great. It took a few days for it to adjust in my 65 gallon tank. The temperature was about 5-7 degrees off at first but then it became more accurate. I'm not sure why. I always use two thermometers just in case. I have it set at 79 and the tank is at 80 which is good to me. I've used many heaters like this and I've never had one be exact. It's easy to adjust with one hand and the temp is always where I want it to be. The suction cups are strong. Just make sure you don't put one on the heating element. The lowest one should be in the middle, in line with the indicator light, just above the coils and the second one should be all the way at the top. This will still provide stability (unless you have big fish that might knock it around) and prevent the cup from warping. There's a rubber foot at the bottom of the heater that keeps it from tapping the glass. The demonstration video shows it wrong! The digital thermometer also seems to work well but I stopped using it because I just prefer glass thermometers. I tested it with two glass thermometers and it matched consistently for 4 months. I'll be using it for acclimating or moving fish.
