For our 2008 Prius - they fairly closely matched the length and girth of the larger (lower) piston width and length - and the coupling mechanism on both ends was exactly the same - using a single bridge holding clip. So we ahead with the install. Even if your current pistons hod the door up fairly well - to do this work you will want to be sure to prop the hatch door open - with a broom handle or something that holds it up so the door doesn’t start to come down as you work - or remove one of the pistons. Without saying - it’s safest to remove and replace each side - one at a time - as the hatch door has a surprising amount of down leverage due to its weight and how far out it swings. The short video shows after installing the right new hatch lift piston - the basics of the easy removal and install. Sorry its a rough cut video - but you’ll probably will get the drift of it. A: Regarding the force Lbs of these struts, I don’t exactly know. But these struts are excellently doing the job for my 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid limited. My advice is go for them.

**Q: Anyone have luck with longterm use?**
A: I bought mine in January,  2021. So far, they work great. I have a 2011 Sonata and I'm in and out of the engine compartment a few times a month. I don't think I could be happier with the quality. Good luck.
