The fabric is more smooth than soft if that makes sense. I think this has a pretty universal fit. I am a size S/M and it looks adorable. I love how easy it is to pair with anything. It was pretty creased when It came so I opened it up and let it air out for a few days. This got rid of most of the creases and I didnt detect any odor. I highly recommend it!
