I have been using epson printers since my first dot matrix in the early 80's. I would never buy anything other than an Epson. Make no mistake, Epson earns a lot of money from these inks. When you buy a consumer grade Epson you are almost selling your soul to the Devil because the lowest price printers are sold at a loss and you are raped on the ink cost (over $1000./liter). Same with HP and the others. The professional grade printers are more economical on ink, but it still costs me over $500. to replace a full set of cartridges on my 3880. As expensive as the Epson ink is, the image quality is beautiful the performance is trouble free. Please save yourself the pain and trouble of trying to save money by using an aftermarket ink for photographic quality prints. Furthermore, there is proprietary software programmed into the Epson cartridges. Review: Great Cartridge - I purchased this cartridge for my Epson Stylus Pro 3800. Although my previous Magenta cartridge did not say it was out (3% remaining), my print quality was degrading and I figured a new cartridge would allow me to clean my printer head and resolve the issue. Upon installing this and performing a cleaning, my printer is going just like new again. I have only used genuine Epson cartridges in my printer and have found them to be of a very high quality with prints lasting so far for 10 years with no fading. They say that these cartridges should be replaced every 2 years whether or not you have emptied them. The cartridge I bought is stamped March 2018 meaning this cartridge has been sitting for 7 months already. However, upon using these cartridges, I have not found that anything happens to them after two years. When I replace the cartridge with another, the error goes away. I've missed the return window because I didn't need the cartridge right away.
