My enclosure is aluminum, and the shape of these is perfect. They came as a pair, so sometimes I put one under and one over the enclosure. You could also put them next to each other for cooling something bigger. It is a nice set to have for a variety of uses. I guess most people will be putting them inside a larger desktop computer and they look like they would work well for that too. They have a smooth surface on the contact-side.
