Review: Large wide feet here...6 returns later...found these. - Look.... When i needed new work shoes, I said to myself, "im older im grown its time to get something nice" I TRIED. I tried so dang hard to spend more money. Danner, thorogood, keen, timberland...i tried so many "premium" brands. There was a few I really wanted to work, construction and materials was top notch. In the end however...the fit just wasnt comfortable. Especially the wide aspect. After seriously a dozen different shoes and brands I saw these on sale and pulled the trigger. First if all...the fit is amazing. One of the most comfortable reinforced toes ive ever hand. They are nice and wide if you get wide and the foot bed is just heaven. One important thing. My gait is a little messed up, I walk off the sides of my heels, I always wear the inner heel part of my shoes down quicker then the rest. For that reason the sole materials was important to me. Alot of shoes these days are doing EVA soles to keep cost down and because its comfortable but it wears out extremely quick. A quality shoe will still use rubber but maybe incorporate a layer of EVA. If you want longevity in shoes you really want nice thick rubber (vibram rubber if possible)polyurethane also holds up well. You just really dont want all EVA. What alot of cheap shoes do is like 95% EVA foam and a very very thin like 1/8 inch or less of rubber. Im happy to report these have a nice layer of rubber. The gray is a layer of EVA but then its a nice thick layer of rubber
Review: Stiff Sneaker - Now that I've had these for a month now, and wear them 12 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week, I feel confident they've had time to break in. Initially, they were a little stiff. I expected them to be a little tight, so I ordered half a size larger than regular sneakers, but I realized that appears unnecessary as there is plenty of room in the toe. After a couple of days I started to feel a seam in the liner that was bothering me across my little toe, and I was not wearing these every day yet, but I decided to press on to see if they broke in by wearing them daily and eventually I forgot about it. When I remembered I realized they were no longer bothering me. That was about a week. I've now worn them four weeks. I spray them with Tinactin deodorant after every use, because my foot gets fairly wet with sweat after 12 hours and I've previously had trouble with athletes foot. I know fungus can build up in shoes worn too often, and this can not only cause athletes foot, but also break down the material in the shoe itself. The shoe needs to dry out between uses. Also worth noting, the memory foam insole is comfortable, but not my preference. It is not however, removable, and there is insufficient space to double-up insoles. I have run in these a fair distance and short jaunts, and kicks, and side-stepping and have never felt the steel toe. The sole is stiff and squeaks on some surfaces, and walking through puddles causes no leaks. The top is tuff also, minor scrapes cause no damage. Of course YMMV, I wear these in a warehouse only and change in the car. They are a little dusty from the black dust in the warehouse, but no dirt or mud. Mud and salts can dry the material and cause cracking and rotting. How some have reported such damage so quickly I cannot say, but these appear to hold up very well for my usage, although I do believe the insole will be the first to go. Which is why I don't like memory foam for insoles. They are great for comfort for a large variety of foot shapes, but they are not as durable as a specific-shaped insoles. I plan on getting a black pair to alternate with these. The only desires I have in these is a composite toe that doesn't set off a metal detector, and a lower price. I ordered the beige style that is somehow twice the price of the black style. I don't know the difference as to why. $50 is outstanding, $90 is worth it, but why pay more? Update 6/14/24 After about six months the insoles finally crapped out. When I finally got around to ripping them out they came out easily, I guess the glue broke down over time. Now with new insoles they are fully functional again and the outer is still in good condition, see image.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Slippery when wet!
*by M***Y on July 24, 2026*

I've had these 2 weeks now and for the most part they are pretty comfortable to wear all day. I'm not sure of the memory foam insole holding up for a long period of time. It seems to move around more than I'd like already. Also, they say these do well traction wise, and the first time I set foot on a wet floor I went all Bambi on ice in them but was able to catch myself before I fell. I have since walked on damp floors with care because I can feel them ready to let go of traction with 1 wrong misstep. I bought the wide size because all of the other Sketchers I have needed to be wide, but these feel like I could have gotten a normal width and they would have been fine. After 2 weeks of 8+ hour days on my feet in them they still look brand new. Other than the issues I already mentioned they seem pretty good, but time will tell how well they hold up.
